A Message from our Executive Director

Thank you for visiting our web site. As you probably know, The City College Fund exists to support the City College of New York in its mission to provide access and excellence in higher education, particularly to students who might not otherwise be able to afford to go to college.

Most (but by no means all) of our donors are alumni of CCNY who wish to give something back to their alma mater in appreciation of the tuition-free or low-cost education they received in their youth. Others simply believe in the mission first articulated by founder Townsend Harris and wish to support it.

There are many ways to support The City College Fund. Our Annual Fund provides much-needed immediate funding for the needs of the current fiscal year. Special gifts can be restricted to scholarships, professorships, or other particular areas of college life, either through annual funding or through a permanently endowed fund that generates income annually from the time the endowment pledge is completed.

The City College Fund serves CCNY in other ways as well. Among many events, we organize annual class anniversary reunions for our alumni. We administer three special projects that strengthen ties between CCNY and top New York City high schools (Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, and Brooklyn Tech) by providing full merit scholarships to qualified students from those three high achieving, science-oriented public schools. Building on the success of these three high school projects, The City College Fund also administers a similar project, called the New Era Scholarship program, involving eleven additional highly regarded New York City public high schools: Cardozo, DeWitt Clinton, Forest Hills, Francis Lewis, Bayside, Ft. Hamilton, E.R. Murrow, Midwood, LaGuardia, Hunter and Townsend Harris. We also work with donors to provide the best possible options for planned giving, bequests, and other "legacy" gifts for those who wish to include the City College in their retirement or estate planning.

In short, we are here to help you help CCNY.

Please feel free to contact us by telephone or e-mail, or drop by our office in Shepard Hall if you are on campus. You will find our staff list and contact information on this site, as well as more specific information about our special projects, our planned giving options, and our most up-to-date reunion plans. Please take a moment to explore the site, and let us know what you think. We appreciate your visiting us, and hope that you will stay in touch!

With warm regards,

Executive Director
